Yard On A Box

Well here is my attempt at keeping connected with family and friends....I have decided to start a blog. A friend of mine convinced me that it's a great way to quickly keep others updated. I am skeptical considering I am a self proclaimed MySpace addict....but here we go. I can't promise too much excitement, but will do my best to keep everyone in "our loop."

This weekend we FINALLY did it! We have a beautiful, green, now enormous looking front yard. After 2 years of planning and debating we took the plunge and purchased our "yard on box." Here's to the economic stimulus check... ours definitely went immediately back into the economy. Friday night with the help of two great friends we were able to complete our project in just over 4 hours. I am now a firm believer in instant gratification, you all should try it some time. Now comes the fun part....we get to keep it saturated for 2 wholes weeks. That's great on days like today when it's supposed to be 105. Each time I pay the water bill I will just remember all the dirt I am no longer cleaning out of everything. It's also so exciting to realize that after almost 3 years of work on this labor of love we call the "little red house" things finally look complete. Another interesting side note: it's amazing how many neighbors decide that they want to introduce themselves once you no longer look like the ghetto house on the corner. I have met over 10 new neighbors over the course of this weeks project. Now on to the next project.
